Artiste Terms & Conditions.

Artiste Application General Terms

Please note this is not the Olive Casting contract. This information is, as titled, the Artiste Application General Terms. If you are offered representation, an ‘Artistes Terms and Conditions’ contract will be sent to you directly. We would advise you read these general terms before making an application and only do so if you are in complete agreement.

Period of Agreement

If accepted to join Olive Casting Ltd, the artiste will remain solely with the agency for a minimum period of 12 months. The artiste will remain under a sole contract with the agency.

Guarantee

The agency agrees to represent the artiste but cannot, in any capacity, guarantee that the artiste will receive any work, as ultimately the casting decision is that of the client and not the agency. Reputation is very important and those artistes with a professional attitude are always offered the most work. We will work hard to secure artiste’s bookings ensuring the best possible terms including working conditions, hours and fees. In return, we expect a high level of professionalism at all times.

Right to Work

An artiste must hold a UK Passport or provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK based on current Government guidelines. The agency will need to see original documents and be provided with photocopies which we will retain for the duration of representation.

DBS

An artiste agrees to apply for or hold a valid DBS (Basic Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate when completing the application form. A basic check is sufficient, we do not require an enhanced check so do also accept these.

Considerations

We strongly advise artistes to consider availability and flexibility; jobs can be as early as 6am, long 12 hour day(s), mostly filmed in the week, and subject to last minute changes and cancellations at the client's discretion. We only accept applicants with a driving licence and access to a car as public transport is not always reliable, especially for early call times or late wrap times, and when a location isn’t easily accessible.

Application Photos & Showreel

In order to consider an application we require two images; x1 headshot & x1 full length. Please send recent and clear photographs in colour only. Both photographs must be filter free and without fashion eyewear or headwear unless for religious or medical reasons. If the artiste is sending professional photographs, please provide a copy of the copyright for the images via email.

If an artiste has a showreel, please send this, along with the photographs in an email, to support the application. If the showreel file size is too large to email, please use a file sharing website such as WeTransfer.

Commission & Agency Fees

Background / Supporting Artist - commission fee 15%

Lighting Stand-ins, Body doubles, Eye lines - commission fee 20%

Featured Artist - commission fee 25%

Payments

The artiste acknowledges that the agency offers representation on a self-employed basis only. The accounting and settling in full any income or other tax liabilities or VAT liabilities on income received and deriving from the artiste’s work with Olive Casting, is the sole responsibility of the artiste.

Payment terms vary depending on the end client. As a guide based on average payment times; soaps 4-6 weeks, independent productions 6-8 weeks, and TV commercial & photographic clients 8-12 weeks.

Social Media

We recommend artistes join our social media accounts: Facebook Page - ‘Olive Casting Ltd’ and Instagram - ‘OliveCastingLtd’. We often post casting calls on our social media platforms.

Agency's Right to Terminate the Contract

The agency has the right to terminate the artiste contract and representation with immediate effect should the artiste, or any person accompanying the artiste, fail to behave in a professional and courteous manner at all times on assignment(s), or fail to behave in a professional and courteous manner towards, and during any communication with, the agency.

Artiste’s Right to Terminate the Contract

The artiste agrees to sign with Olive Casting for a minimum period of 12 months. Should the artiste wish to end this period short, Olive Casting will require at least 4 weeks notice in writing (email acceptable), which will include and detail the reason for the termination. Any assignment(s) that have been agreed or commenced in any capacity under Olive Casting representation must be completed under Olive Casting representation.

Opening/Closing of our Books

The agency will open and close its books, depending on the requirements of the agency and the volume of work. We will make these announcements on our social media platforms.
